On the morning of Sunday 22 September nearly 80 RAC member families came together at Grand Cinemas Warwick for a special member event. These lucky families had won the chance to see a preview screening of Disney’s Planes in 3D through a competition in Horizons magazine.

The RAC flight attendants were on hand to check boarding passes as hoards of eager children stood patiently with their parents and grandparents. Their arms were full of popcorn and other special treats, courtesy of some great Candy Bar specials available on the day.

In the foyer, the kids had the opportunity to become a ‘licensed pilot’ for the day with the Disney’s Planes cut out.

As the kids dragged the adults to find the best seat in the cinema, they were greeted with another treat – a goody bag placed on each seat. In the bag were some sultanas and a little chocolate treat to keep them going throughout the movie. They also got a balloon and colouring in sheet to take home for later.

Goody bags

For many kids (and some adults!), it was the first time they’d seen a 3D movie and the cool glasses were an added novelty.

3D fun

Lorelee Johnstone, Member Rewards Manager… and Captain for the morning… gave a short speech and presented the door prizes. The kids scrambled to look under their seats to see if they were lucky winners and rushed to the front to claim their prizes.

With big smiles all round, a great morning was had by all!
