RAC Insurance has won the 2015 Asia Insurance Technology Award in the category of Best Insurer: Technology.

The awards ceremony, held last night in Jakarta, saw RAC Insurance accept the award for its implementation of a ‘digital transformation’ program.

RAC Insurance was recognised as the insurer who had made the most progress in embracing technology, with the introduction of a new digital program that offers significant benefits to the organisation, its members and suppliers.

RAC Insurance CEO John Stringer says that the technology was born out of RAC Insurance’s commitment to driving innovation, adapting to changing technologies, and ultimately continuing to put RAC Insurance members first.

“Through our digital program we have been able to deliver significant benefits to our organisation, suppliers and most importantly our members,” Mr Stringer says.

“The digital program includes the automatic allocation of a repairer at the time a motor claim is lodged, significantly improving repair response time for members.

“It also integrates RAC Insurance’s existing IT platform with an external motor supply chain management tool, allowing a more streamlined and efficient motor repair process.

“Furthermore, the new technology features a complete no-touch online self-service, enabling members to buy, view and manage their insurance products online, and claim online via an easy online claims lodgement tool on any device – whether it be a laptop, smartphone or tablet.

“We exist to provide valued insurance solutions to our members and the digital program has enabled us to deliver a speedier and more streamlined claims lodgement and repair experience for our members.

“This has been a priority for RAC Insurance for quite some time, so we are thrilled to receive the Asia Insurance Technology Award.”
