In March, we launched the next stage of a five year campaign to highlight the Wheatbelt’s unacceptable road safety record; the Elephant in the Wheatbelt.

Symbolising the elephant in the room, the life-sized African elephant sculpture is made out of wrecked cars and is touring the Wheatbelt throughout the year to generate awareness and discussion about the issue.

So far, we’ve had an overwhelmingly positive response from the Wheatbelt community, and many people have bravely shared their personal stories with us either on Facebook, or in person at community events.
