For the eager West Coast Eagles fans making the cross-country drive this week, RAC has some advice to make sure you get to the ‘G on time.

RAC Patrol Cameron Dargan says last time a WA team made a grand final appearance, there were some noticeable common breakdown spots along the route from Perth to Melbourne.

The South West region of Western Australia has played host to significant meetings of Nyoongar People and their cultural events, for thousands of years. The South West region has always been of high cultural significance for local Nyoongar People who regard the area as an important food resource.

RAC staff talk about the Wheatbelt

In March, we launched the next stage of a five year campaign to highlight the Wheatbelt’s unacceptable road safety record; the Elephant in the Wheatbelt.

Symbolising the elephant in the room, the life-sized African elephant sculpture is made out of wrecked cars and is touring the Wheatbelt throughout the year to generate awareness and discussion about the issue.

So far, we’ve had an overwhelmingly positive response from the Wheatbelt community, and many people have bravely shared their personal stories with us either on Facebook, or in person at community events.

RAC and the Department of Parks and Wildlife have formed a partnership to make it easier and more affordable for RAC members to explore these natural wonders.

RAC has teamed up with Parks and Wildlife to offer RAC members a 50 per cent discount on a range of Parks and Wildlife park passes through the RAC online shop. More information is available on the RAC website regarding the discounted Annual All Parks Pass, Concession Annual All Parks Pass and Holiday Pass
