Today is the day. It’s been months in the making but finally it’s arrived. I’m flying to Kununurra. It’s been unbelievably exciting that I get the opportunity to volunteer at Waringarri Aboriginal Arts. I’ve been frantically trying to my pre-reading. I’m sure it’s about 800 pages worth! In any case, I know I’ve still got the week to do it.

RAC, as part of its corporate social responsibility and its desire to support indigenous Australia is sending me to Kununurra. RAC’s vision (and also mine) is to help indigenous Australia progress their businesses forward by providing support through my skills and experience. My brief is to help improve processes and practices with respect to filing systems. Even with all my knowledge and experience, my only fear is that I won’t know what to do when I get there.

Even though I’ve been lucky enough to travel the world, I know that this experience is going to be wildly different from anything I’ve ever done before. I go in with as open a mind as possible ready to grab every opportunity that comes before me; to make a difference, to understand the culture, to be creative, to be a positive influence on others and, to travel and explore our vast country.

Personally, I hope to gain a new perspective on life itself.

Let the adventures begin….
